About This Site

Why we built it and who it is for.

This Site Exists Because Finding Help Is Too Hard

Single parents already do the work of two people. You work. You raise kids. You handle everything alone. You should not also have to wade through confusing government websites just to find out if you qualify for food stamps or childcare help.

We built helpforsingleparents.org to put that information in one place — written in plain English, at a 5th-grade reading level, so you can understand it fast and take action.

What You Will Find Here

  • Step-by-step guides to government programs for food, housing, and healthcare
  • Honest information about what you may qualify for — and what the limits are
  • Links to official program websites and government agencies
  • Plain-language explanations of how to apply

Who Writes the Guides?

The guides on this site are written based on publicly available government information. We do our best to explain things accurately and clearly. Programs change — income limits shift, offices close, rules get updated. We cannot guarantee every detail is current at the moment you read it. Always check the official program website before you apply.

If something looks wrong or out of date, please let us know. We want this information to be right.

This Site Is Free to Use

You will never be charged to read anything here. You do not need to create an account. You do not need to give us your phone number or Social Security number. Just read and use the information.
